Lingerie | How to Care and Store your Goodies

Updated: Oct 8, 2020

Since lingerie is a big part of Boudoir, and we'll soon be selling it (yay!) I thought a guide on how to properly care for your new goodies would be in order! It's pretty simple, but important, as lingerie tends to be both delicate and expensive, so you want to protect it as long as possible!

- You do not have to wash your lingerie each time you wear it. This of course depends on duration of wear, but usually you can just put it back it it's drawer and wear it again.

-Lingerie can be spot cleaned before it is washed. Just use a mild detergent and warm water. Let it air dry.

-If it needs to be washed:

-hand wash in cold or warm water.

-DO NOT twist or wring it out. Blot it with a towel then let air dry.

-Delicate detergents are best.

-You can wash in a machine if you use a delicates bag! Wash on light setting with warm or cold water, preferably with other light or delicate items. You don't want anything that will snag the garment bag.

-Always air dry it. Don't put it in the dryer unless its in the bag and on the very lightest setting.

*Pantyhose and legwear should ALWAYS be washed by hand and air dried.

*Bras that have molded cups should be stored standing up in a drawer. DO NOT FOLD THEM IN HALF. (I'm guilty of this...)

*Panties should be laid flat in a drawer.

*Sets, Cami's, Teddies, and all the fun things can be hung on pretty hangers in your closet. If you don't want them out for the kids to see, fold them in half neatly and lay them flat in a drawer. There are also really beautiful lingerie chests that match just about any décor!
